Multi-fraction access control — Sianów, Poland

In Sianów we deployed iCober MultiLock to serve a multi-fraction bin store. One device manages access to each fraction, limiting use of the containers to authorised users.

Less dumping, more control

The main aim was to curb dumping by people outside the scheme. The user selects the fraction they need and gains access only if they hold the required permission.

Long battery life

Long operation on a single power source mattered particularly here. MultiLock was configured to limit energy use and minimise the need for service visits.

That matters for bin stores, where changing a battery means an extra trip and work in the field.

Simpler operation through buttons

In Sianów we used button wake-up — the user presses a button to activate the system and choose a fraction.

In the newer version of the solution the extra button is no longer needed. The user selects the fraction directly on the device, and that selection activates the system at the same time. They then present a card or phone to authorise.

This is an example of a solution where the way it is operated was matched to how the bin store is actually used, and then developed further so that using the system became simpler still.
